the more i read about ritual shunning and disfellowshiping in the society, the more i wonder how the governing body and elders have pulled the proverbial wool over the eyes of the congregation.
first, the society doesnt consider itself a church (unlike the ancient christians, who did consider themselves to be part of a church).
yet, like other sectarians, they have their hands out for contributions and exercise immense power over their members.

Browsing Yahoo Answers this morning I noticed one of the beliefs that would help identify the true Christian religion.
Taking blood into body Gen. 9:3, 4; Lev. 17:14;
through mouth or veins Acts 15:28, 29
violates God’s laws
To extract an interpretation such as "[Do not] take blood into body through mouth or veins" - especially after the Jews already knew for centuries what the "do not eat" commandment meant, would require the same illogic that would cause someone to avoid penicillin because to law says "Don't use drugs."

i've emailed this to several people now so figured i might as well post it and share with all.
the following information has been compiled from various sources on the web, including jwfacts.com and free minds.
a fraction of it is from my own mind.
BTT
the foretold turn of gubberment on religion hasn't begun yet.
that event is supposed to happen with a "swift pitch", an event that will be unmistakable at it's onslaught.
for the time being, any violence toward "babylon the great" cannot be attributed to the fulfillment of revelation 18.. .
Why, yes it did, Wayward. I could never understand how that could be.
BTW, awesome thread!
hi all, i've posted here in crisis a few weeks ago.
i recently have finally taken the time to write out my entire story.
i knew i had to come out to my parents and family about everything, my sexuality, and my issues with the jehovah's witnesses.
... to read later.

Only Christ's true followers were supposed to suffer persecution for their faith. So when non-JW Christian persecution appeared in the news, what kind of confusion, if any, did it conjur up in your mind?
We had one elder in our congregation explain that other religions were not being persecuted for following Jesus, they were being persecuted for NOT following Jesus.
Huh?
just mulling over the demise of religion in general as we humans progress away from fear of the unknown.. i was wondering when some country or group will try to outlaw religion.
then i recalled how an all out attack on religion is what is supposed to trigger armageddon.
after 9/11 the first thing george bush said was that islam is not the problem, extremist terrorists are the problem.
The operation of error is strong with this one.
